HI Pulse is an online monthly speaker series presented jointly by the Health Informatics graduate program at Kent State University and the Northern Ohio Health Informatics Management Systems Society (NOHIMSS). Webinars will be offered from noon to 1 p.m. (EDT/EST) the third Wednesday of each month.
The purpose of the series is to promote the growth of knowledge among Health Informatics professionals in Northeastern Ohio as an addendum to NOHIMSS annual whole and half day conferences. Anyone, anywhere, who is engaged in health informatics or a related discipline, is welcome to join this discussion. Many of the topics will be eligible for CPHIMS/CAHIMS credit, and forms will be available to download when applicable.
HI Pulse will be conducted through a web conferencing tool to give participants the benefit of gaining cutting-edge knowledge without the need to travel to a particular venue. Webinars will feature a guest presentation and conclude with audience question and answer.
Presentations and discussions will be archived for open, public access with the ability to add to discussions surrounding the presentations.
Any topic, whether practical or theoretical, that touches on Health Informatics is welcome in the webinars. HI Pulse is launching with some invited presenters to get the series started. Hopefully, the series will continue indefinitely through broad participation from the Health Informatics community.
If you’d like to submit an idea for a webinar, please Submit a Presentations Proposal. We strongly encourage students to present their work through this series. We will do our best to accommodate.
HI Pulse webinars will be moderated or facilitated by a member from the HI community who will be responsible for ensuring that the dialog is respectful and consistent with ethical and professional behavior.
We look forward to hearing your suggestions for presentations and look forward to growing and strengthening the community.
